Null Mutants is the Chicago-based duo of Todd Irwin and Nick Butcher. Accomplished graphic artists, the project finds the pair mixing deep reverence and acute experimentation in a medium adjacent to their trade.
Syncing Feel, their first release, warbles and pops with nods to reggae, dub, and musique concrète. Across six tracks, they layer crystalline syncopation and rough hewn signal processing, expressing a languid anxiety fitting for this particular moment on planet Earth.
