I understand why people like Going Places, it has a focus a lot of our work lacked, but here you see that the focus is just the product of selective editing, cobbled together from bits of more drawn out, psychedelic, ramblings. I love these recordings, we’re at the peak of powers and the evolution of these improvised pieces minute-to-minute make no sense to me now. They’re surprising, enveloping and really GO.
