A rich, introspective journey towards the deep zone of repentance. The newest effort by Russian artist Geklaper is a broken, tape flutter-stained affair, retaining some moments of hopefulness but overall a downcast contemplation on sonic morality influenced by Albert Camus’ “La Chute.”
Melodies come and go, hopeful in offering a naive solution for the heavy weight of condemnation. A double negative. Comprehension of regret, with no solution for either parties involved. Ready to take the fall, Geklaper is guilty for everyone’s sins, pessimistically seeking peace and resolution before the Penitent Judge.
