For the first time ever on cassette, Orb Tapes presents “Memories” by Emil Beaulieau, America’s Greatest Living Noise Artist. Originally released on CD on the RRRecords sub-label Pure in 1994, and reissued by Pure in the early 2000s on CD again, this tape release marks the first time “Memories” has graced an analog format – a fitting medium for one of noise’s most analog performers and artists. With over an hour of destroyed record mayhem, “Memories” offers a window into the sound and ethos of the early Americanoise scene. Vinyl degradation, gurgling feedback, and Minutoli madness bring us back to earlier days in the world of noise, before digital tools and processes became ubiquitous and stale. More than 30 years since its original release, Emil Beaulieau’s “Memories” is back to deafen a new generation of freaks
