““Der buchdrucker” literally translated means: spruce bark beetle. The spruce engraver is probably the biggest pest for norway spruces in europe. The beetles are termed “aggressive” by forest entomologists because hundreds and thousands of beetles cooperate, attacking one or a few adjacent trees until they kill them. The spruce bark beetle, as aggressive as it is, has also a beautiful side to it, it shapes wonderful patterns on the trees’ surface, perhaps a speculative analogy for the eulberg grooves cut here for your delectation. Already released in a crazy, horrifyingly expensive, limited edition wooden box version – this new twelve comes with two euphoric open air slammers. “Der buchdrucker” is a party crasher in a big way, a bit different from its predecessors, more “detroity“, dryer, less playful, but still with discrete samples of forest sounds secreted about its person. “Björn borkenkäfer“ has even longer legs – rangey chiming techno perfect for the sunnier days and bigger systems.
