“Entrancing microtonal drone excursions for reed and percussion, conjured by Christer Bothén (Archimedes Badkar, Bitter Funeral Band, Fire! Orchestra); a main player in the Swedish jazz and improv scenes since the ‘70s, when he was also collaborating with Don Cherry and studying music in Mali and Morocco. Despite arriving with such stellar provenance, Ljudskulptur För 5 Kontrabasklarinetter & Elektronik is only Bóthen’s 2nd solo LP proper to date, following a string of collaborative efforts in the ‘80s and The Spirit Of Milvus Milvus in 1996 to make a subtly absorbing return and quietly mark his place within contemporary drone and improv constellations.”
