The Ghana Soul Explosion – Soul Makossa

“Soul. Out of Mother Africa, via the ghettos. Primitive rhythms, fused by the electronic music of a turned-on generation. Superdudes that can sock it to the man. The black heroes that blasted their funky way onto the screens are back into it! Superfly is battling from Italy to Africa, and bringing with him the music of Africa electrified his way. Soul is ever moving, and from Ghana, Abidjan, Accra and Dakar our musical caravan vends. Harlem meets Hollywood head on, and The Four Tops take their newest hit from ‘Shaft in Africa’ – ‘Are You Man Enough?’ Our travelling band of musicians, resident in London are called The Ghana Soul Explosion. Brother, they are. Listen to their Funkadelic way with the current chart hit ‘Soul Makossa.’ Heavy. Or dig the way they cover the other super soul on this album. From Africa, Hollywood, London . . this is the Black SOUL T.N.T. !!!!!!!!!!”
