“In the colorful site of the old Bel-Air in Port-au-Prince, a group of young musicians founded the “Trio Select“ on September 6. 1957.
Previously destined to enliven community social gatherings, the musical group progressed rapidly to become one of the Haitian best bands.
Some persons fond of music think the “Trio select“ success is due to the talent of the guitarists Georges Celestin and Andre Serant. Others believe that the exceptional singer Gesner Henry in his personal way to “do his thing“ is the key man.
Surely diversity and originality in composition on serious and humoristic subjects bring fans to nickname the group “whooping cough of Haiti“.” – from the LP jacket
