Masterpieces of Medical Photography: Selections from The Burns Archive was curated by artist Joel-Peter Witkin. This book contains forty-four images, each of a rare medical subject from the mid-nineteenth to the early twentieth century. Examples include Dissected Head in Soup Plate, Young Woman with Elephantiasis from Scarlet Fever, Hospital Gangrene, and Girl with Large Foot Jumping Rope. With an introduction by artist Joel-Peter Witkin.
This book is in Good readable condition. It has been read and may show some age & wear to the wraps/boards, or light creasing/wear to the pages. The binding may show very minimal wear, or be fully intact. Generally, most wear will solely be superficial. Large scratches to the front of the book’s dustjacket and denting the boards. *Image in the listing is stock. There may be variation in the actual product.
