Pierre Klossowski’s last novel, considered by many to be his masterpiece, THE BAPHOMET was awared the Prix des Critique when first publsihed in France in 1965. The author, who has written about Sade and Nietzsche as well as the Doctors of the Church, is a spirit particularly at ease with extremes. Of him it has been said that he never ceased to keep one foot in the seminary and the other in the brothel.
