Otis Clay – Trying To Live My Life Without You

Out of stock

$15.00

Though not as widely known as contemporaries Al Green and Ann Peebles, Otis Clay became an important part of the Hi family when signing for the label in 1971. Across two albums released five years apart, his Southern soul-bearing standard was accompanied by the always impeccable Hi house band, and showcased material as strong as any of that released by his his labelmates. His biggest hit, the title track of his second record, ‘Trying To Live My Life Without You’ became an even bigger success when covered by Bob Seger, and secured Clay’s place in the Great American Songbook. Grammy nominations followed, and with these two albums Clay shows how deep the Hi Record well runs. These long out of print albums are pressed on to 180 Gram coloured vinyl: ‘I Can’t Take It’ on gold coloured vinyl and ‘Trying To Live My Life Without You’ on green coloured vinyl.
