Michael Snow – Musics For Piano, Whistling, Microphone And Tape Recorder

Only 1 left in stock

$24.00

What our staff has to say: “Michael Snow may be more recognized as an artist/filmaker, but has crossover into recorded media (music) as well, starting with his involvement with free improvisation, in groups like The Artists’ Jazz Band and CCMC (Canadian Creative Music Collective), and then with his own solo LP Musics For Piano, Whistling, Microphone and Tape Recorder, which came out in 1975 on Philip Glass’s Chatham Square Productions.   This record takes his experience in free improvisation and pushes it further into an experimental terrain, utilizing a tape recorder and a microphone to explore new ideas.” – Jon

Musician, visual artist, composer, writer, and sculptor Michael Snow is also one of the world’s most highly acclaimed experimental filmmakers. In 1975 he released this album under the record company Chatham Square. The label was founded by the owner of Michael Snow’s gallery, the Bykert Gallery, which also issued the first Philip Glass recordings. This reissue is released in collaboration with Michael Snow. 180-gram vinyl; gatefold sleeve.
